Ringdroid

This application is actually really cool. It lets you manipulate song tracks, so that you can use songs from your music library as ring-tones. Whats great about that? Well say you want the ring-tone to start 1min 30secs into the song, and last for 20 seconds (chorus maybe?), this application makes life easy for you.
  • Supports MP3, WAV, AAC, MP4, 3GPP and AMR files.
  • Song editing
  • Creating ring-tones (duh..)

Spotify

You guessed it, its the official Spotify client which enables you to listen to your Spotify playlists wherever you go. You need to be a Premium subscriber to use this application, but I’d say its definitely worth it. You don’t know what Spotify is? Then it’s time you came out of your cave and check out their website. The client has all the features the computer client does (i think), and as long as you’ve either downloaded playlists to be available offline, or have a 3G connection you should be ready to go.

  • Store your offline playlists
  • Share your favourite tracks with friends
  • A pretty decent Home widget

Procedure to update Samsung Galaxy Ace with Cyanogen Mod Gingerbread 2.3.7 ROM:
For your convenience, we have created different steps wherein you can follow individual step easily.
Step 1: Base Firmware Installation & Root

Now, once you updated the device and rooted the same you will need to proceed to install the Clock Work MOD Recovery in your phone which we will see in the next step.
Step 2: Clock Work MOD Installation
  • First up you need to download and install the ROM Manager application either from the Android Apps LABS or from an all new Android Market Place. Now, download the Clock Work Mod 5 Zip in your computer and then you need to copy this downloaded zip file in your phone as it is without renaming the file. Ensure that you haven’t modified the file or else it won’t be detecting the file in the recovery mode which we will see in the due course of the article.
  • After installation of the ROM Manager, you need to now open the same from the Applications. Once you open the same, you will get to see the image which is mentioned below.
ROM Manager
  • After this from the list of options, you need to first up select the option of “Flash Clock Work Mod Recovery” which will flash the recovery mode in your phone. Now, after this if your phone restarts, then again open this application called “ROM Manager” and then now you will have to choose the option of “Backup Current ROM” so that the current working ROM is backed up easily  and just in case if anything goes wrong then you can restore the same.
  • Now, after backing up you need to now select the option of “Reboot into Recovery”. In the recovery mode, choose “install zip from sd card” and “choose zip from sd”. Once you do this, you will get a list of Zip files which are present in your phone where you need to select the file which is named as “recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix.zip”.

Step 3: Installation of Cyanogen Mod 7 ROM
  • First up you need to download the two Zip files which are mentioned below in your computer
Part 1
Part 2
  • Now, once you are done with downloading the above two zip files in your computer, you need to now copy these two files in your phone and ensure that you are not placing these files deep into the phone. Please note that you should not modify or rename the files which you have downloaded or else there is a high probability that the file would not be supported.
  • After this you need to open the ROM Manager application in your phone which will be there in the list of applications and then select the option of “Reboot into Recovery” to get into the recovery mode. You can also additionally get into the recovery mode manually too. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing  Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can refer the below mentioned video on how you can enter into the recovery mode.
  • In the recovery mode, you will have to choose “install zip from SD card” and after that you will have to select another option “choose zip from SD”. Now, from the list of files and paths you will need to first select the file which is named as “cm-7.1.0-RC1-Cooper-KANG-10.10.11- Part 1.zip” and then once it’s updated successfully you will then need to select the file which is named as “cm-7.1.0-RC1-Cooper-KANG-10.10.11-Grif_07_update_Part2.zip”. Ensure that you select the files properly.
Recovery Mode Galaxy Ace
  • Now, as soon as the process is over you will  either see that the device is restarted or you will again land up on the recovery mode. If you again land up on the recovery mode screen then you need to choose the option of “++++ Go Back ++++” and then you need to select “reboot system now” to reboot the phone.
So, there you go as soon as the phone is rebooted you will see that the firmware is updated with the latest version of Cyanogen mod 7.1 ROM Gingerbread 2.3.7. Let us know in the comments section just in case if you face any issues as we will try our level best to sort out the same.
